We receive news from our dutch friends about Amsterdam international
draughts tournament and present material for you.
Just like the first edition (oktober 1997) Ghandi from Amsterdam
organized an invitation-tournement with grandmasters, masters and
juniors. Sure, Alexander Schwarzman was the big man to visit in " the
Bijlmer" , but Alexei Tsjizjov, Anatoli Gantwarg, Iser Koeperman,
N' diaga Samb and the Dutch players Hans Jansen and Kees Thijssen
were present too. By playing remise against Tsjizjov an Hans Jansen in
the last two games Alexander Schwarzman won the Bijlmer international
tournement 1998. In 9 rounds he scored 15 points, three(!) more thand
Alexei Tsjizjov, which one was finished on second place. The master group
was won by Pjotr Chmiel(Poland) and Wiebe van der Wijk was winner at the
juniors.

about realization of match for world draughts champion title between
eightfold world champion Alexey Chizhov (Izhevsk) and pretender
Alexander Shvartsman (Moscow). It had created organizational committee
for realisation of match at the head of Izhevsk mayor A.Saltikov. In
organizational committee It had included president of FMJD mr. W. van
Beek as from FMJD and first president of RDF S.N.Gorbachev as from the
Russian Draughts Federation.
The Russian Draughts Federation is supporting completely of realisation
match formula whitch the both participants had offered.
I report returns about match which It is definitive offer from FMJD,
Russian Draughts Federation, organization committee and the match
participants. The match will go in the conference hall of Izhevsk
administrations. The match will consist of 3 sets (portion) by 5 game.

was removed from a post because of default responsibilities.
