Hans Jansen wins " ORAP" open
The Hague, the Netherlands -
In the last round ORAP Open in the Hague
(the Netherlands) there were important games top play:
Ron Heusdens-Alexei Tsjizjov and Hans Jansen-Alfons Ottink.
In the first game a draw for Heusdens was enough to
win the tournement. But, in the middle of the game Tsjizjov
created chances and took a good position. After that, the
ex-world-champion did not make a mistake and won without
problems. At that moment it was not allowed for Hans Jansen
to play a draw if he wanted to finish equal wit Tsjizjov.
Jansen took a good position, either, not yet enough for
winning. In the end of game with kings, after six hours,
Ottink made a big mistake and lost the game! After this
result, Jansen and Tsjizjov finished with Tsjizjov (14
points). The digital brain "said" the Dutchmen got two
points more, so he was the winner of ORAP Open.
Ron Heusdens, N'diaga Samb and Tjalling Goedemoed
(13 points all) took third place.

Rob Clerc Dutch champion 2000.
In the new millennium Rob Clerc is the first Dutch champion.
It was his eighth title. In barrage-games (sunday 30th of april)
Clerc had a good luck. In the last game, it was hardly lost for him
with Ron Heusdens. Than Hans Jansen should be the new champion.
But, Heusdens made in this game a big mistake and Clerc was winning.
Rob Clerc, 44 years of age, played his 25th championship.
A record! With international draughts he has a good palmares.
At tournaments of the world Clerc was second in 1979, 1982, 1984 and 1992.
In 1996 first with Tjizjov, but in a match Clerc lost. Clerc plays in Hiltex,
the Dutch champion by teams.
